Your two demand-gen roles

Priya, the demand-gen manager and lifecycle marketer roles have both been open since July, and the Series B note put pipeline at the centre of next year’s plan.

Two searches at that level usually run a quarter each. Worth 15 minutes on how teams normally bridge that gap?

To be exact: HubSpot is the one direct integration. Everything else here is a CSV hand-off, which is all SimpleSend needs. Lists come in from wherever you source them, and finished drafts go out as columns that map into whichever sender each client already uses.

01The situation

Good outreach takes research. Research takes the day.

01Problem

Your pipeline is the first thing to slip

Client work has deadlines. Your own outbound doesn’t. Three good months of delivery and the top of the funnel is empty — usually right when a retainer ends.

02Problem

The tooling expects an ops hire

Enrichment waterfalls, lookup tables, prompt columns, credit budgets. That’s a real skill set. It also isn’t the one you sell, and it isn’t how you want to spend a Thursday.

03Problem

Personalization doesn’t survive volume

Researching one prospect properly takes ten to twenty minutes. Multiply by a client list and it quietly stops happening — the merge fields go in, and the reply rate goes out.

02The work itself

Same email. Ten fewer steps.

Researching by hand

With SimpleSend
  1. 01Upload the list
  2. 02Write the brief once
  3. 03Approve one sample
  4. 04Export the CSV

The goal isn’t to automate the relationship. It’s to remove the repetitive work that happens before the conversation starts.

03How it runs

From a list to drafts you’d actually put your name on.

Upload
Brief

Export
01Step

Bring the list

Drop a CSV or pull a HubSpot list. Columns are detected and mapped, and blanks, role inboxes and duplicates are flagged before a single unit is spent.

Checked before you pay

02Step

Write the brief once, per client

What they sell, who it’s for, proof points, tone, CTA — plus the research targets and how to play each one. Paste two or three of their past emails and drafts come back in their voice, not yours.

Saved and reusable

03Step

Approve one sample

SimpleSend researches one real row from the list and drafts the full sequence for it. Nothing else generates until you sign off on that one.

Read one, then ship all

04Step

Export into their sender

Stable column headers map as merge fields anywhere. SimpleSend never sends, so each client’s domain reputation stays exactly where it belongs.

CSV out, sender unchanged

04The difference

Both of these are personalized. Only one is specific.

Merge fields only

Two searches at that level usually run a quarter each. Most teams in that spot bridge the gap rather than wait it out — run the function now, hand it over when the hires land.

Same sender, same offer, same list. The difference is that the second one had something to say, because the research ran before the writing did.

05What to look for

You decide what it looks for and how to play it.

There’s no fixed list of signals to pick from. A campaign brief holds your own research targets — what to look for, and the branch to take when it turns up. These are the ones agency owners tend to start with.

Two demand-gen roles open since July

Why it matters

A function that has been short-staffed for a quarter is already costing them, and the people feeling it are the ones who’d sign your contract. It’s a reason to email that has nothing to do with your pitch.

Recommended message

Open on the length of the two searches and what usually happens to pipeline while they run. Offer the bridge, not the retainer.

06What people use it for

Four jobs it does on a normal week.

01Use case

Your own pipeline, on a schedule

Block an hour, upload a hundred accounts, export a sequence. The part that used to eat a week is the part that runs without you.

02Use case

Client campaigns in the client’s voice

One saved brief per client — their offer, proof points, tone samples, research targets. Campaigns generate against that client’s list, and nothing bleeds between them.

03Use case

Different messaging per niche

The same service sold to clinics and to CFOs needs two different reasons to open. Two briefs, two sets of research targets, one workspace.

04Use case

Walk into the pitch with the research

An optional talk track built from the same research gives you the five beats for the call: opening, pain point, signal, question, ask.

07Where it sits

It doesn’t replace your stack. It sits in the middle of it.

Lists come from
  • Apollo
  • Clay
  • Sales Navigator
  • HubSpot lists
  • CSV
SimpleSend
  • Research
  • Personalization
  • Drafting
  • Talk tracks
Sending happens in
  • Smartlead
  • Instantly
  • HubSpot sequences
  • GoHighLevel
  • Gmail mail-merge

SimpleSend replaces neither end. It’s the research and drafting layer in the middle — the part that turns a list into something worth sending.

08The maths

One retained client covers it many times over.

Billing is usage-based rather than per seat, so a two-person agency and a twenty-person agency pay for the same thing: emails researched and drafted.

Entry is $25/mo for roughly 220–310 researched emails. Starter is $50/mo for roughly 440–620. The $999/mo Agency plan covers roughly 8,300–11,850 and exists for genuinely high volume across many client lists.

Where most people start

Most agency owners start on Starter and move up only when client campaigns outgrow their own pipeline. Very few need the Agency plan on day one.

09Questions

The fine print, in large type.

  • For ten prospects, yes. What SimpleSend adds is everything around the writing: holding your brief and research targets, running the research per row, keeping every claim traceable to something it found, applying one voice across a whole list, and handing back a CSV your sender can read. That’s the part that stops happening when you do it by hand two hundred times.

  • No. SimpleSend never sends. It researches and drafts; you export a CSV and send from whatever you already use — Smartlead, Instantly, Apollo, HubSpot, GoHighLevel or a Gmail mail-merge. Deliverability and domain reputation stay entirely in your hands.

  • No, and you shouldn’t. Keep sourcing wherever you source. SimpleSend sits between the list and the sender. HubSpot is the one direct integration; everything else is a CSV in and a CSV out.

  • Yes. A brief holds one client’s offer, ICP, value props, tone samples, CTA and research targets, and it’s saved for reuse. Campaigns run against that client’s list with that client’s brief, so voices don’t cross.

  • Paste one to three of your real past emails into the brief and drafts mirror that cadence, openers and sign-offs. A deterministic linter then strips the usual tells — em-dash pileups, “I hope this email finds you well,” leftover template tokens, length violations — before you ever see a draft. You still read and edit every one.

  • A fact-check pass rejects any claim that doesn’t trace back to a research finding, so nothing invented ships. If that strips the opener, a re-anchor pass writes an honest one from the findings that did land. Contacts that can’t be drafted honestly are skipped, and the batch report says why.
