If you already work in Claude, you can now run SimpleSend from the same chat. The SimpleSend connector gives your own Claude access to your lead lists, saved briefs, company research, quality checks, Find Leads, email sequences and LinkedIn campaigns. Claude writes the emails itself, so drafts written this way use no SimpleSend draft credits. Research still costs credits, and anything that reaches a real person waits for your go-ahead.

Below: what the connector is, which Claude plans it works on, how to set it up, what Claude can do with it and what that costs, the guardrails, a sample session, and when SimpleSend's own drafting is the better choice.

What the connector is

The connector is an MCP server. MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is the open standard Claude uses to work with outside tools. Once you connect it, Claude can call SimpleSend's tools from your conversation: read a lead list, create a campaign from a saved brief, pull the research for a contact, save the drafts it wrote, build a sequence. Everything it creates lives in your SimpleSend account, where you can review it, edit it, export it or send it.

The split of work is simple. SimpleSend supplies the parts that need infrastructure: your lists, the company research, your brief and voice samples, the checks every draft goes through, and the mailboxes that send. Claude supplies the writing, on your Claude plan rather than SimpleSend's drafting models.

It works in claude.ai and Claude Desktop with the steps below. Claude Code and other MCP clients connect with a personal key from your SimpleSend profile instead, and the connector docs have the exact command.

Which Claude plans it works on

Every one, including Free. Claude allows custom connectors on its Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans. Free allows one custom connector, so SimpleSend can be that one. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner adds the connector for the organization first, and then each member connects their own SimpleSend account.

You also need a SimpleSend account. Connecting signs you in, or lets you start the 14-day free trial (375 credits, no card). The trial covers research and drafting. Find Leads, email sequences and LinkedIn come with paid plans.

Setting it up

  1. Open Connectors in Claude. In claude.ai or Claude Desktop, go to Customize, then Connectors.
  2. Add a custom connector. Click + Add, then Add custom connector, and name it SimpleSend.
  3. Paste the SimpleSend URL. Paste https://simplesend.tech/api/mcp as the connector URL.
  4. Connect and approve. Click Connect. Claude opens SimpleSend, where you sign in and approve the connection, then you return to Claude.
  5. Check it works. Ask Claude: what lead lists do I have in SimpleSend?

On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds SimpleSend once under Organization settings, then Connectors, with the same URL. Members then find it under Customize, then Connectors (it carries a Custom label), click Connect, and approve it with their own SimpleSend account.

What Claude can do with it

The connector has 50 tools. In practice they group into a handful of jobs:

JobWhat Claude doesCredits
ListsReads your lead lists, or saves contacts you paste in as a new list (up to 500)Free
Briefs and campaignsUses a saved brief or writes one with you, adds up to five research targets, and creates the campaign5 per research target to plan, once per campaign
ResearchPulls SimpleSend's company research for each contact5 per target per company, reused free for 30 days
DraftingWrites every step itself and saves it; SimpleSend checks each draft and Claude fixes anything flaggedNo draft credits
Find LeadsSearches 100M+ B2B contacts, saves people to a list, and finds work emails and phone numbers, showing the cost first2 per new person shown; 10 per email and 100 per phone found
ExportHands you the finished campaign as a CSV for Smartlead, Instantly, HubSpot or any senderFree
Email sequencesTurns a drafted campaign into a sequence, picks mailboxes and a schedule, runs pre-flight, sends you a test, and launches on your go-aheadNone; sending needs a plan that includes it
LinkedInBuilds template campaigns, starts per-person campaigns that SimpleSend drafts, reads your LinkedIn inbox and replies once you approve the textSending uses LinkedIn actions; SimpleSend's drafts use draft credits

The checks matter. When Claude saves a draft, SimpleSend confirms that every specific fact in it is backed by the research, adds your greeting, CTA link and signature, marks the follow-ups as replies, and returns a verdict for each step. Claude fixes and resaves anything that does not pass. The full tool list, with costs, is in the connector docs.

What it costs

One rule covers most of it: drafting in Claude costs no SimpleSend draft credits, and research still does. A researched email drafted by SimpleSend costs roughly 7 to 13 credits: 5 for research at one target, plus 2, 4 or 8 for the draft on Standard, Premium or Enhance. Drafted in Claude, the same email costs the research alone, and nothing at all when that company's research is reused within 30 days.

Checking drafts, saving them, exporting and sending are free. Find Leads costs the same as it does anywhere in SimpleSend, and Claude shows you the estimate and asks before it spends. On the Claude side, the writing counts toward your Claude plan's usage like any other conversation.

The guardrails

Giving an assistant access to a tool that can email real people deserves a careful look. Here is how the connector is fenced in:

  • Launches wait for you. Before an email sequence or a LinkedIn campaign goes out, Claude shows you a summary (who is ready, who is held and why, the mailboxes or the pacing, when it should finish) and launches only after you say so. A sequence launch is tied to the summary you saw, so if the numbers change, Claude has to show you a fresh one.
  • Spending is shown first. Find Leads searches and enrichment show the estimated cost and wait for your yes before anything is billed.
  • Caps apply. At most 10 sequence launches a day, and test emails only ever go to your own address.
  • Some things stay in the web app. Claude cannot see your billing details, change your plan, buy domains or mailboxes, or read your HubSpot or LinkedIn credentials. Connecting LinkedIn and setting up sending happen in the app.
  • Research is data, not instructions. Company research comes from public web pages, and the connector tells Claude to treat it as facts to cite, never as instructions to follow.
  • You can cut it off. Revoke the connection any time from your SimpleSend profile. On Teams, admins can cap each member's monthly credits, and the cap applies to work done through Claude too.

The connector security page covers access, limits and team controls in more detail.

A sample session

Here is a first campaign, prompt by prompt. The list and brief names are made up.

1 · Check the basics

"What lead lists do I have in SimpleSend, and how many credits are left?"

2 · Set up the campaign

"Use my 'Fintech ops leaders' list and my saved brief 'Close automation v2'. Add two research targets: recent finance hiring, and which ERP they run. Tell me what the research will cost before you start."

3 · Draft a few and show me

"Draft the first three contacts and show me every step before you do the rest."

4 · Steer, then finish

"Make step two shorter and keep questions out of the subject lines. Then draft the rest of the list."

5 · Send it

"Turn this campaign into a sequence from my mailboxes, run pre-flight and show me the summary. Don't launch yet."

At step five, Claude comes back with something like: 182 ready, 6 held (2 catch-all addresses, 3 at companies that replied in the last 90 days, 1 duplicate), three mailboxes, finishing in about three weeks. You say "launch it" and it does. Or you ask for the CSV and send from the tool you already use.

For the longer, research-first version of this workflow, with prompts you can paste, see research-backed outreach with Claude.

When to use SimpleSend's own drafting instead

Drafting in Claude is the right call when you want to steer, read along and spend nothing on drafts. SimpleSend's own drafting fits better when:

  • You want to hand off a big list and walk away. SimpleSend drafts in the background, up to 500 contacts per batch, while Claude works at the pace of your conversation and within your Claude plan's usage limits.
  • You are drafting LinkedIn touches. Per-person LinkedIn notes and messages are written by SimpleSend; drafting in Claude covers email only. Claude can still set up the campaign and start SimpleSend's drafting for you.
  • You like the approve-a-sample loop. The web app drafts one contact's full sequence first, takes your notes, and applies them to every draft after it.

SimpleSend's drafting costs 2, 4 or 8 credits per email on Standard, Premium or Enhance, on top of research. You do not have to choose once. Draft one campaign in Claude and the next in the web app: both land in the same account, use the same briefs and research, and send or export the same way. You can even ask Claude to hand a campaign to SimpleSend's drafting and check back when it is done.

If you already do your thinking in Claude, the connector turns that habit into finished campaigns: researched, checked and ready to send or export, without spending a single draft credit.

Frequently asked questions

Does the SimpleSend connector work on the free Claude plan?
Yes. Claude allows custom connectors on every plan, including Free, which allows one custom connector. You also need a SimpleSend account; the 14-day free trial (375 credits, no card) covers research and drafting.
Do drafts written in Claude use SimpleSend credits?
No draft credits. Claude writes the emails on your Claude plan, and saving and checking them is free. Research through SimpleSend still costs 5 credits per research target per company, and reusing that research within 30 days is free.
Can Claude send emails without my approval?
No. Before a sequence or a LinkedIn campaign launches, Claude shows you a summary of who is ready, who is held and why, and waits for your go-ahead. Test emails go only to your own address, and there is a cap of 10 sequence launches a day.
How do I add the connector on a Claude Team or Enterprise plan?
An Owner adds it once under Organization settings, then Connectors, using the URL https://simplesend.tech/api/mcp. Each member then finds it under Customize, then Connectors, clicks Connect and approves it with their own SimpleSend account.

If you'd rather not assemble the research, voice-matching, and QA layers yourself, SimpleSend does all three. Start from a CSV, a HubSpot list or a Find Leads search: every contact gets fresh research, every draft is written in your voice from samples, and every email goes through the QA pass. Then send it from SimpleSend or export it to the sender you already use. Start with a 14-day free trial, no card; plans from $50/month.
